Hello, I’m Paige. It’s Lovely to Meet You.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you’re curious about ADHD, neurodivergence, or perhaps you’re just wondering why you walked into a room and immediately forgot what you were doing. (If so, you’re in excellent company.)

I’m a BACP Integrative Counsellor and Coach, and I’m also someone who lives with inattentively presenting ADHD. That combination means I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to the conversations we’ll have here. I won’t pretend to have all the answers – if I did, I’d probably also know where I left my keys, and unfortunately, that’s not how this works.

What I do have is curiosity, compassion, and a tendency to disappear down research rabbit holes until I’ve collected as much evidence and understanding as possible. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours studying ADHD, reflecting on my own experiences, and listening to the stories of others. The more I’ve learned, the more I’ve realised how much of the ADHD experience is misunderstood, minimised, or simply left out of the conversation.

This blog exists because I want to change that.

My hope is to create a space where neurodivergent people feel recognised rather than judged. I want to explore the parts of ADHD that often go unnoticed: the emotional experiences, the invisible struggles, the strengths, the contradictions, and all the wonderfully messy human bits in between. And if you don’t have ADHD yourself but love someone who does, I hope these posts help you understand their world with a little more clarity and compassion.

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I believe therapy isn’t reserved for people in crisis.

Somewhere along the way, many of us absorbed the idea that we have to be struggling “enough” before we’re allowed to ask for support. That somehow we need to earn the right to be listened to. I don’t believe that’s true.

Therapy is a space for human beings.

It’s a place to think out loud, to untangle thoughts that have become knotted, to make sense of experiences, and to understand ourselves a little better. Sometimes it’s about healing old wounds. Sometimes it’s about navigating change. Sometimes it’s simply about having one hour where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself, or hold everything together.

We’re all shaped by the families we come from, the environments we’ve lived in, the expectations placed upon us, our relationships, our identities, and a society that seems to change its rules every five minutes. That’s a lot for any nervous system to carry.

Having space to process that doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It doesn’t mean you’re incapable or lacking resilience. It means you’re a person trying to make sense of a complicated world.

Throughout this blog, I’ll share research, practical strategies, therapeutic insights, and probably the occasional ADHD-fuelled tangent that somehow circles back to the original point eventually. My aim isn’t perfection: it’s a genuine and authentic connection.

So, whether you’re here to understand yourself, support someone you love, or simply satisfy your curiosity, I’m really glad you’ve arrived.

I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned, continue learning alongside you, and explore what it means to live with ADHD with a little more understanding, a little more self-compassion, and perhaps a few laughs along the way.

See you in the next post.
